Frequently asked questions
Does cropping reduce image quality?
No. Cropping only removes pixels outside the box; the kept area is exported at its original resolution. Exporting as JPG or WebP applies normal compression, while PNG stays lossless.
Are my images uploaded anywhere?
No. Cropping runs entirely in your browser with the Canvas API, so the image never leaves your device.
Can I crop to a square or fixed ratio?
You can drag the box to any size, including a square, by matching the width and height shown above the preview. For a perfect circle avatar, use the circle crop tool instead.
